What to expect with your family pictures
We have found that an exceptional photo experience begins with planning. I meet with my clients well before the day of our shoot to discuss wardrobe choices and/or changes, location choices, and get an overall feel of what the client is looking for. Then, with this information, I can then do a site visit and plan out the potential places and poses. This planning allows for a more comfortable mood on the day of the shoot.
We recommend long sleeves and bright, solid colors. Bare arms can be a distraction in the final product, taking the focus away from what matters most – your faces. Patterns tend to get distorted, especially if you are looking at the photos on your electronic device rather than a print.
Consider a theme! Having family members dress in the colors of their favorite sports team, for example, helps bring out the personality of the family. It’s a lot of fun!
Day of the session
Beginning with at least the night before, get a good night’s rest. This will help prevent bags under the eyes and will allow you to keep up your energy during the session.
Bring a water bottle. We will be shooting out-of-doors and quite active. Having water nearby to quench that thirst will allow you top be more comfortable during the shoot.
Arrive at the session location a little early. That way, you’ll not be rushed. You’ll feel more relaxed.
Talk to me! If there is a pose that you want, tell me! We can make it happen! It’s all fun.
